Overview
The network-overlay workflow joins an uploaded feature table to a completed network. The documented Progenesis route launches it from FBMN and supplies the existing spectra and graph automatically. The overlay adds supplied attributes; it does not independently establish their biological meaning.
What can this tool do?
Common uses
- Add feature-level information to a completed molecular network.
Scientific fit
Primary function
Visualization and reporting
Data compatibility
Inputs
Feature or peak table, Mass spectra
Outputs
Human-readable report
Input formats
GraphML network, MGF spectra and an overlay table with a node-ID column
Output formats
GNPS2 network results with supplied overlay attributes
Scope and considerations
Designed for
- Overlaying table attributes on existing GNPS2 network nodes.
Not designed for
- Generating new measured evidence or validating uploaded annotations.
Important requirements
- A completed network, its spectra and a compatible overlay table.
- A node-ID column that matches network identifiers; follow the documented column-header restrictions.
Considerations
- Mismatched identifiers can prevent correct attribute assignment.
- The linked tutorial demonstrates Progenesis/FBMN; no broader format support was independently tested.
- The source repository linked from the workflow collection could not be retrieved during review.
Access and documentation
