Overview
LipidOz scores isotope-distribution evidence for candidate OzID fragments and provides a graphical review interface. Its documented workflows include LC and infusion analyses; ordinary collision-induced MS/MS is not a substitute for OzID measurements.
What can this tool do?
Common uses
- Score candidate lipid double-bond positions from OzID fragments.
- Review fragment evidence and export target-level scoring reports.

Scope and considerations
Designed for
- Structural interpretation of compatible OzID lipid measurements.
Not designed for
- General lipid discovery without OzID data.
Important requirements
- OzID data, a compatible target list and workflow-specific extraction settings. The LC guide uses MZA data and CSV lipid/adduct/retention-time targets.
Considerations
- Inspect diagnostic-fragment quality and ambiguous assignments; a software score alone is not structural confirmation.
Access and documentation
Python source and GUI executables are available. The repository labels its linked GUI release as beta; match the executable and documentation versions before analysis.

Evidence and review
Official documentation and dedicated software publications reviewed on 2026-09-11. No installation, uploaded dataset or independent benchmark was run. Reconciled with the LipidOz candidate in PR #13 (628a0f9); preserved one canonical slug, corrected the master draft author and verified BSD-2-Clause licensing. PR #13 was merged upstream during this work; preserved its other records and this single enriched LipidOz entry.
