Scope and considerations

Designed for

  • WaveICA 2.0 uses wavelet decomposition and independent-component analysis to adjust inter- and intra-batch effects without requiring batch labels.

Not designed for

  • Raw-file peak detection or recovery of biology irretrievably confounded with acquisition order.

Important requirements

  • R with waveslim, ica, mgcv and the package dependencies.
  • Reliable injection order aligned to each matrix row.

Considerations

  • Review correction against QC samples and biological covariates; removal of order-associated variation can also remove confounded biological effects.
  • Batch labels are not required, but injection-order metadata is required.
