Overview
LipidLynxX provides Converter, Equalizer and Linker modules for nomenclature conversion, comparison at selected structural levels and resource linking. Its naming workflow can prepare lipid lists for tools such as BioPAN.
What can this tool do?
Common uses
- Harmonize names before combining lipidomics tables.
- Compare lipid lists at a chosen annotation level and obtain resource links.

Scope and considerations
Designed for
- Supported lipid shorthand conversion and identifier cross-matching.
Not designed for
- Raw MS processing or experimental confirmation of lipid structures.
Important requirements
- Lipid names in a supported notation and a chosen conversion or comparison level.
Considerations
- Check unmatched names and conversions before downstream analysis.
- Preserve the structural resolution supported by the original measurements.
Access and documentation
Hosted on LIPID MAPS, with source available for local deployment. Local use requires a compatible Python environment and dependencies; consult repository setup instructions.
