Overview
LipidSig 2.0 provides a browser workflow for data checking, lipid-name mapping and downstream analysis of processed lipidomics tables. The canonical entry covers the original and updated web service; the separate LipidSigR package is linked by the service but is not treated as identical software.
What can this tool do?
Common uses
- Compare lipid abundances and characteristics across study groups.
- Inspect enrichment and lipid association networks.

Other functions
Pathway and biological interpretation, Visualization and reporting
Analysis types
Lipidomics
Data compatibility
Inputs
Feature or peak table, Compound list or annotations

Scope and considerations
Designed for
- Downstream analysis of processed MS lipidomics tables.
Not designed for
- Raw spectral peak picking or experimental structure identification.
Important requirements
- CSV abundance tables and analysis-specific sample information; use Data Check first.
Considerations
- Inspect unrecognized lipid names and preprocessing choices.
- Enrichment and network modules use differential-expression output; statistical associations require biological validation.
Access and documentation
Free hosted service open to all users. Data are uploaded for analysis; consult the service before submitting sensitive datasets. No open-source license is inferred for the web service from the companion R package.
Evidence and review
Official documentation and dedicated software publications reviewed on 2026-09-11. No installation, uploaded dataset or independent benchmark was run.
